
Dean Prebble founded Zach in 2008
Dean has spent his early career in financial roles becoming a senior equity analyst with an international share broking firm in the 1980s followed by a teaching position with The University of Auckland’s Business School.
He was also involved in a number of entrepreneurial ventures, initially as an investor and later on as manager. This period included first hand experience at taking a company from start-up to IPO.
In the mid 1990s Dean worked as a senior consultant with Ernst & Young’s entrepreneurial services division where he led the Strategy Consulting service line. He became a trained facilitator with the Australian firm Business Thinking Systems with a focus on business improvement and strategic planning for small and medium-sized companies.
By 2000, Dean had established his own consultancy focussing on high growth companies and resulting in the appointment as Director of The New Zealand Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NZCIE).
Dean holds a MCom from The University of Auckland and is well published in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital.
